With storms popping up across the nation throughout hurricane season, we’re all seeing photos or videos of damage or hearing about damage to homes in other states. While our area, thankfully, is out of those danger zones, your roof can still deteriorate during storms and need some work. But there are also some other things that can break down your roof over time. 1. Wind: Along the same lines as storms, strong winds can break down your roof over time. Winds can mess with your shingles, even displacing them or tearing them off if they are strong enough. 2. Trees: While many homeowners love the privacy that tall, thick trees bring to their home, branches and shrubbery can actually damage your roof. This becomes especially dangerous when large branches fall on your roof and can even puncture it. 3. Sunlight: This one is a bit surprising, isn’t it? Strong sunlight can break your roof down overtime if you have shingles. The powerful rays from the sun, while they bring us nice warmth and sunshine, can damage darker colored shingles quicker, too. Storm or no storm, there are elements outside of our homes going on constantly. Those can break down your roof, damage your roof, and make repairs a headache. Let us help you take care of your roof, through the wind, sun, and everything in between.
